QPharma, a leading regulatory compliance and brand solutions company, has expanded its call center offerings with the addition of an Aggregate Spend Call Center solution for life sciences companies.
“As pharmaceutical, medical device, and other life sciences firms prepare for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to publish reported aggregate spend data later this year, they should also prepare for their covered recipients — especially physicians — to raise questions and disputes about reported data,” explained Ed Sleeper, QPharma’s Managing Director, Commercial Strategies and Solutions. “This could potentially result in thousands of inquiries per company — and who will field these inquiries? The Chief Compliance Officer? The field sales representatives?”
Pursuant to the Affordable Care Act’s Open Payments transparency program, manufacturers of certain drugs, devices, and medical supplies are required to report payments and transfers of value given to physicians and teaching hospitals. CMS will publish reported data on its Open Payments website later this year. The call center solution will serve as an information resource for healthcare practitioners who have questions and concerns about reported transactions. QPharma’s compliance subject matter experts will speak directly with covered recipients and clarify questions regarding the regulations, as well as investigate and resolve any reportable spend queries they may have. The service is available for current QPharma clients who use the firm’s qSpend® aggregate spend reporting solution, and is available to firms using a third-party system as well.
“By providing this service for their covered recipients, life sciences companies will enjoy increased regulatory peace of mind while enhancing their relationships with key opinion leaders, high prescribers, and other practitioners essential to the commercial success of their brands,” said Sleeper.
